Awareness
In all our sex-positive events, and from time to also in other types of events, we engage an awareness team. The awareness team is not a “moral police” and its role is not to aid the club’s security personnel, but to be the first contact point for guests who are affected by discriminatory behavior. In the context sex-positive parties, such behavior often appears in the form of sexual violence - whether physical or verbal, and is often a societal product of lack of awareness towards marginalized groups. Section 8 normally works together with the awareness collective “b_aware”, but occasionally also puts together its own team.
Either way, any awareness team at any of our parties is always:
paid. sober. trained.
In case you or someone in your vicinity experience discriminatory behavior at a Section 8 party, or in case you feel that your space, or the space of others around you, is being violated, please do not hesitate to contact our awareness team. You will find them at their info-stand, or patrolling the club. In case you are unable to find them, please contact our admission staff. Interested in awareness work? Interested in awareness eductation? We invite you to contact b_aware collective for workshop dates and other information events.
